Support to the Bedouins breeders in the south – Hebron

Project duration: Eight months starting from January 16^th 2009

Implementing Agencies: Three organizations agree to jointly cooperate sharing all the project elements between them namely;

-         Palestinian Wastewater Engineers Group (PWEG)

-         Italian Association for Solidarity among People (AISPO); Italian NGO

-         Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC)

PWEG main contribution in project implementation

-         Design of on-site wastewater treatment plants and preparation of engineering drawings.

-         Preparation of treatment units technical specifications and all related tender documents.

-         Follow up and supervision of treatment unit construction.

-         Preparation of theoretical and practical training in relation of operation and maintenance training of the treatment units.

-         Conducting of household practical training on management of treatment units by PWEG expert staff to the target beneficiaries.

Results:

-         Construction of 13 onsite treatment units.

-         Irrigation of 5000 m2 cultivated with fodder.

-         Fodder delivery

-         Grazing areas, home gardens ready for cultivation and with availability of water from the recycle units.

-         Beneficiaries trained about the management of recycle units, grazing area and home gardens/training material printed and distributed.
